All games will be played in accordance with the Official NCAA Lacrosse Rules
(2006), subject to the following exceptions:
- All players must play at least one HALF!
- Periods will be running time (12 minutes for High School A and B divisions and 10
minutes for the Junior Division) except for the last minute of each quarter or each
overtime period. However, the timer will stop the clock for all time outs.
- The league will provide balls for each game. They will be located at the midfield.
- There will be a face-off at the beginning of each period and after a goal is scored
- Coaches can make substitution "on the fly" at any time. Only in the following
instances will an official sound the horn for substitution:
- When a penalty is called and penalty time is to be served;
- After a goal is scored; and
- During sudden death periods on any dead ball. Officials will allow no more than 20
seconds for substitutions in these instances and assess penalties according to NCAA rules
if too many or too few men are on the field when the 20 seconds have elapsed.
- When a referee stops play to award possession (ball out of bounds, looses ball,
technical foul, etc.), the player receiving the ball must be ready to put the ball in play
immediately when the official is ready to start play again. If the player is not
ready to take the ball, the referee will state "ball is in play." He
will then drop the ball no closer than 10 feet from the sideline or end line and blow his
whistle to start the play.
- No game will be forfeited until the Division Commissioner and/or League Director at the
game is notified and allowed to correct the problem, which caused a forfeit. Coaches will
make every attempt to begin the game. However, referees are not to begin games
without a coach present for each team.
- Referees will treat a one-handed check as a slash, if uncontrolled on hand (off)
Holding.
- The penalty for maligning any official or referee shall be 3 minutes
(unreleasable, full time to be served). A second offense by the same player shall be 3
minutes and expulsion from the game. Officials and referees are to report any expelled
players to the League Director. Additionally, the same rule applies to any coach who
maligns any official or referee.
- The Commissioner or League Director reserves the right to remove any
player from a game if he or she feels that a player or players may endanger the safety of
another player or players. They also have the option to remove a player from the League
for the same reason.
- All players are required to wear the following equipment:
- Center facebar helmet;
- Legal gloves, shoulder pads, and elbow pads;
- Mouth guards;
- Complete goalie equipment, including throat protector, for all goalies.
